POVERTY BAY CLUB. The second round of" the double sculls for Mr B. Aislabie's trophies were continued', last evening. J. Lloyd and .L. Nicolas (3sec) v. J. Nicolas and E. Corbett (scr).— Lloyd got a good start, and made the best of his three seconds, but Nicolas also got away well and overhauled his opponent at the first bridge; from there to the finish both crews rowed neck and neck until near the post, when Lloyd put on a bit of- a spurt and .won by a canvas, after a very hard race. W. McQuffle-and J. ,o'NeiU (2sec) v. O. Hansen and " H. Holschier.— Both- crews got a good start. McGufflfe making the best of his two seconds led Hansen to the Kalti bridge,, but Hansen quickening up a little drew within hall- a length of McGuffle. . t McGuffle,. however, proved top much for hjm,. winning Iby half a length. In the second . round of ■ the fours for Mr h. J. Grieves trophies, E. O'Neill, G.. Smart, K. Priestly, and P. Jones rowed J. Stuart, J. Magnusson, V. StagpoOle, and J. Sears. Both crews got well away together, and raced on even terms to the first bridge, when E. O'Neill began to draw away, and won by about a length. The semi-finals. of the fours and double sculls will bo rowed this evening. Fours: L. Stichbury v. E. ; McGuffle; doubles: W. McGume y. R. Patty. They finals > will be rowed on Wednesday evening.
