KING EDWARD'S MEMOIRS.
PRIVATE LETTERS TO BE DESTROYED. LONDON, Aug. 29. There are probably, few memoirs which publishers would print more keenly ju,st now than the private letters and diaries of the lato King Edward. Some of this interesting matter may even now be m the process of being cremated, for j during the visit of ' Queen Mother Alex-! andra to Balmoral a certain portion of the private correspondence of King Ed- 1 ward is to be destroyed. ! \ The letters have been m charge of | King George's bankers. King George J wished to destroy them all as soon as they came into his possession after his father's death, but his mother refused to consent to this. She has. now agreed to their destruction, with the exception of a few of which she has personally taken charge. The letters were taken to Balmoral recently from London, m a small iron safe, which was m charge of two of tho chief officials of the King's bank.
