LATE NEW ZEALAND NEWS.
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Several prisoners came before Mr Justice Chapman for sentence to-day. James Leonaj-d Lomas and Philip O'Donnell, two youths, arrested for breaking and entering and theft at Auckland and j Wellington, were ordered to receive 18 months' imprisonment and 12 months' reformative treatment respectively. The Crown Prosecutor stated tKat the prisoners had stolen £176 worth of jewellery and £27 m money m Wellington, and jewellery to the value of £153 bad been recovered. Three youths, William) Collins, Walter Wakefield, and Wm. j Frederick Leatherby", who pleaded guilty j pf breakintf, entering and- theft of fruit and bicycles at Wanganui, Shannon, and Marton. were remanded m order that the judge might consult the Chief Justic* as to what should be done with the prisoners.
