THE FLOWER SHOW.

A feature m connection with the cooking division at the Flower Show held m the Scottish Hall is the excellence of the children's exhibits. _.Ie cakes especially were a lino lot. Master Phillip Berry's collection illustrative of natural liistory attracted much attention. Amongst the curios were pigs' tusks, quartz, birds' eggs, old coins, kauri gum, shells, numerous pressed fern leaves and a moa's lootprint. Speaking to a ltporter, one of tlie judges explained that Mr Grant's champion trumpet narcissus was a Mrs H. J. Veitch specimen, it was m wonderfully fine condition. There was another that would have beaten it, but it toad gone past its best. Mr Robertson's champion bloom was a Gloria Mundi, and it also was m beautiful condition. "They are a very fine collection indeed," commented the judge, icferring to the show generally. "The pity is that people don't exhibit more." Additional awards are as follows : —
