Twenty-eight competitors. Vocal solo (operatic), ladies, amateur or professional, own selection : Miss M. , Davenport (Christchurch), Bb\ 1,• Miss Maud Stringer (Christchurch), 86, 2 ; Miss Edith Croxton (Christchurch) and Miss May Walton (Dunedin), equal, 82, 3; sixteen competitors. Tenor solo: W. E. McKinlay (Dunedin), 90, 1; Greg Russell (Christchurch) and David Russell (Port Chalmers), 70 each, 2 ; seven competitors. Impromptu debate: Misß 0. E. Burton and Mr P.
