CELEBRATIONS AT DURBAN.
(Press Assn.— By Telegraph— Copyright.. . (Received Sept. 2, 8.5 a.m ) • DURBAN, September 1.. The Australian warships were Warmly welcomed. Two hundred of the crew of the Australia marched through, the streets, fceaded by a band, the Mayor entertained the officers at luncheon. Complimentary speeches were made.
The press make complimentary references to tho occasion.
The Natal Advertiser says : 'The visit brings home to everyone that Australia is m deadly earnest concerning naval defence, whilst South Africa is -till trifling with the question, though _v«__y ton- 1 sideration urges her to follow the e»Ample pf Australia."
