During. the. past few days people have been remarking about the phenomenal number of ladies seen m Gladstone road, which has given the town quite a city appearance. This is accounted for by thtf opening of Messrs Adair Bros.' Big Drop Fair. In spite of the much-talked'-of tightness of the money market, the opening days of this big fair have been a huge success. Their crusade against tlie present high cost of living is evidently being keenly appreciated by the general public, as their sales have been practically double those of previous years— a fact which speaks? for itself. On every hand expressions of delight are heard at 1 the very.lottf price at which everything is mai'ked. Those who have not yet attended tins Big Fair should certainly come and see for themselves, as it only j lasts for a limited time. To-morrow is j to be a special day for country customers.* " . I
