DEATH OF A MISSIONARY.

Island news has been received stating that Rev. Charles Sage, of the Melanesian Mission at the Solomon Islands, was drowned on June 7 through the capsizing of the mission launch m a squall.
Deceased was a native of Victoria ahd was ordained at Norfolk Island m April last. Ho had previously seen 15 years of mission work m Melanesia and elspwhei-e^-v
AUCKLAND, last night
A cable announcing the death by drowning of the Rev. Chas. Sage was received from the Bishop of Melanesia to-day by Archdeacon Neildi general secretary of thef Melanesian Missions. No ( particulars other than that the fatality occurred on June 7 were given m the message. Mr Sage was a native of Tasmania, and has been working m the' Mission field since 1907 as a layman until two or three months ago, when he wai* ordained. He was stationed at Mala.
