OPERA HOUSE PICTURES.

A fine attraction is a programme under a new regime, which will be welcom. Ed by patrons of this house. The management always endeavor to please, and present this series as a unique attraction. Contained m it are some splendid subjects, and the star Pasquali drama, entitled "On the Steps of the Throne," causes intense interest wherever shown. The story is that Prince Valdimir is ruled by Count Backine as regent, who tries to bring about a marriage between Valdimir and his. niece Alexandra, but the prince has already fallen m love with his pretty cousin Olga. Backine arranges that the prince shall spend the time before his coronation m Paris. Backine meets a man bearing a resemblance to the prince, whom he employs to impersonate the prince, so that he can obtain his own end. At the same time he sends word to Paris that the prince has been put to death. But just as the coronation is about to take place the real Valdimir appears, the usurper is swept aside, , and while all present look on with amusement, the prince goes to Olga, and taking her by the hand, I leads her to the steps of the throne. "The Marriage," by the Vitagraph Company, contains a story of pathos .and love, which must appeal to all. "The Ranger's Horse" depicts the extraordinary intellect displayed by that animal. Specialty dances by such famous artists as Miss Phyllis Dare and Mr Geo. Grossmith form a special feature, and "The Cormorant" ranks as a film of merit m the natural history world. Humor is ■catered for m Edison's "Office Boy's Birthday," and "Pizen Pete," by the Lubin Company. Pathe Gazette gives items of interest.
