OTAKI RACING CLUB.
WELLINGTON, June 4. The Otaki Racing Club's winter meeting was continued in excellent weather before a f air* attendance. The 'course was slightly on the heavy side. The totallsator handled the sum of £12,056, as against £9499 for the second day last year, making the total lor the meeting £30 594, as against £23,633 last year. Following are the results:—
Telegraph Hack, 5 furlongs.— J. H. Prosscr's Aratiatla, 8.1 (H. Telford) 1, Yankee Doodle (8.3) 2, Axis (7.6) 3. Also started: Lady Louisa, Sir Moutoa, Tree Lucerne, Silver Rose, Courtley. Elevated, Chatsil, Cadonta, Merry Jack, Articial. A close finish. Won by a head, half a length between second and third. Time,'l.3 3-5 Hack Hurdles, l. miles.— M. Ellcrton's Sea Queen, li.i (M. McConnel) 1, Rongomau (9.0) 2, Fond Memory (9.0) 3. Mso started: Gay Lawless, Royal Maid, Buoyant, Aviator. Master Malachi, Pa rem a ta. Won by a length, two lengths between second and third. Time, 2.53 1-5. Huia Handicap, of 250 sovs., one mile. — E Kehip's Vi, G.9 (J. Kemp) 1, Mulga BiU (7.9) 2, Toney (G.13) 3. "Alio started: Undecided, Peroneal, Byron, Sir Knox, Moutoa Girl, Lady Volga, Mon Ami Negative, Katua, Glenfern, Matlow. The winner led all the way and won by a length, five lengths between second and third. Time, 1.45".
Stewards Hack, 7 furlongs.— Ewart and Somers' Kaulki, 8.7 (w. Price) 1, Tiwari (7.10) 2, Borsil (6.7) 3. Also ran: Dirge Settler, Red Line, Grandee, Parkhill. a very close finish. Won on the post by half a head, third three lengths awav Time, 1.32 3-5. s r
Railway Handicap, 6 furlongs— S. Brere/°n,V n T euru> 7 " 12 (W. Bell) 1, Blue Lake (8.9 2, Leapukl,(B.o) 3. ,Also ran: Altcar, Makara, Merry. Frank. Sanguinary,/Mysterlarch, ; Roosevelt, War Queen.
