V STATE OF THE SEA. -irloderate seas were reported at CapeJVJjaria, Russell, and Tiritiri, a moderate 'I roij at Gisborne, smooth at Napier, rough at Cape Palliser, moderate swell at New Plymouth, considerable sea vat Farewell Stflt, moderate and increasing at Westport, moderate at Greymouth and Cape Campbell, smooth at Timaru and Bluff. WEATHER, FORECAST. The forecast issued last night states:— "Present Indications are for moderate to strong westerly winds northward of New Plymouth and Napier, and freshening northerly winds elsewhere. Fair to cloudy weather is probably generally, but.unsettled and showery on the west coast' and southern districts, of the South Island. The barometer has a falling, tendency , everywhere."
