REPUBLICANS AND THE KING

MADRID, June 4. Senor Alarved (leader of the Republicans) announoed in the Chamber of Deputies that his party was satisfied with the conduct of the King, and Avas Avilling to work with the Monarchy if the latter accepted a truly Liberal programme. Theydeclaratioh has created a sensation. . The resignation of the Spanish Cabinet was {Occasioned > by the Conservative followers of Senor Maura refusing to act as the Opposition. King Alphonso afterAvards conferred Avith Senor Maura, who, however, refused to reconsider his position, 5- Count Romanones resumed the Premiership, the Cabinet being unchanged. The list of Ministers in the Spanish Cabinet, which was re-formed at the end of last year, was as follows: Count Romanones, Prime Minister; Senor Navarro Reverter, Foreign Affairs; Senor Lopez Munoz, Public Instruction; General Luque, War; Senor Amalio Glmeno; Marine; Senor Suarez Irelan, Finances; Senor Alba, Interior; Senor Villanueva, Public Works; Senor Barroso, Justice. v
