REFERENDA PROPOSALS LIKELY TO BE CARRIED.
AIANY RETURNS YET TO COME
(Received June 5, 10.20 a.m.) SYDNEY, June 5. Tho position in regard to t|he referenda is altered.
"Yes" has a majority on all: questions on the total vote, and is 'leading in four States. These are the two, conditions required for the success- of the proposals, but it is too early yet to regard the result as certain.
Many thousand votes are still in doubt.
The counting of absent votes is proceeding slowly. It is unlikely that the complete figures for the election will be available before the end of next Aveek.i The Celay that has been caused by the absentee votes is illustrated by the fact that at the Sydney ToAvn Hall votes were polled for every electorate in the Commonwealth excepting one. These have to be sent by post.
