MATAWHERO STOCK SALES. The weather was fine and there was a good attendance at the Matawhero stock sales to-day. There was a good yarding of both sheep and cattle, but the prices were on the decline. The yarding of fat stock was small, and the sheep were not very well classed. Very little was sold. Twelve ewes sold at 10s 3d, and 8 at Us Id. . _ , T Messrs Williams and Kettle and the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company yarded 37 fat cows, which sold from £3 16s to £6 3s. Store sheep: The yarding " comprised about 13,000 sheep. There was a small demand and the prices were not high. A special line of 73 big wethers from Mr K. CotteruTs Tokomaru Bay property were passed at 16s 4d; also 1746 2 and 4 tooth wethers, from Mr W. Perry's station, passed' at 12s 6d. and 515 2 tooth wethers at 10s.
