MATAWHERO STOCK SALES. The weather was fine and there was a good attendance at the Matawhero stock sales to-day. There was a good yarding of both sheep and cattle, but the prices were on the decline. The yarding of fat stock was small, and the sheep were not very well classed. Very little was sold. Twelve ewes sold at 10s 3d, and 8 at Us Id. . _ , T Messrs Williams and Kettle and the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company yarded 37 fat cows, which sold from £3 16s to £6 3s. Store sheep: The yarding " comprised about 13,000 sheep. There was a small demand and the prices were not high. A special line of 73 big wethers from Mr K. CotteruTs Tokomaru Bay property were passed at 16s 4d; also 1746 2 and 4 tooth wethers, from Mr W. Perry's station, passed' at 12s 6d. and 515 2 tooth wethers at 10s. The sales were as follows: 114 empty cull ewes 2s 7d. 40 do. 4s, 261 empty ewes 4s lOd. 206 4. 6. and 8 tooth ewes in lamb 6s 2d, 60 2 tooth wethers 8s 2d, 104 wether lambs 6s lOd, 180 Lincoln full mouth ewes 7s lOd. 48 empty ewes ss. 13 lambs 3s sd. 54 hoggets Romney cross ,2s lOd, 118 do. 5s 3d, 18 wether lambs 5s '2d, 91 lambs and 4 ewes 3s 4d, 60 s'leep mixed sexes 4s lOd. 122 mixed lambs is 4d. 153 ewe hoggets 9s 3d, 30 2 tooth to full mouth ewes 4s, 130 hoggets mixed sexes 5s 6d. 121 mixed woolly lambs 8s 9d, 250 mixed lambs 3s Id, 156 do. 3s id, 54 woolly wether lambs 8s lid, 61 mixed hoggets 6s 6d, 29 do. 3s, 26 forward ewes Bs, 16 ewes in lamb ss. 181 hoggets 9s 3d, 313 mixed do. Bs, 71 wether lambs 7s 9d, 119 mixed hoggets 4s Id, 46 empty ewes 8s sd, 34 do. 6s, 93 empty ewes 5s 3d. I pigs: 36 pigs were yarded by Messrs Williams and Kettle and the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., and the prices realised were good, only one pen of five being passed In. Sales , were: 10 pigs 10s, 6 at Bs, 5 big Pigs *5s i 6d, 26 pigs 345, 5 small pigs 10s 6d, 4 do. Us. I After luncheon Messrs Williams and Kettle and the Loan and Mercantile Company continued their sale of store sheep. A number of small lines brought better prices. The sales were: 45 hoggets 3s lOd, 139 do. 5s 6d, 134 do. 6s, 10 small do. 3s, 36 do. 4s 3d, 85 big 2-tooth hoggets 13s Jld, 33 ewes 4s Id, 34 old ewes 2s lOd, 4Q6 small lardbs 3s 4d, 44 ewes in lamb ,4s, 525 ftpggets 5s Bd, 60 2-tooth wethers '8s 2d, 206 do. 13s 7d, 20 do. 10s 3d. 73 do. 16s 6d,220 ewes In lamb ss, 313 hoggets Bs, 181 wether lambs 9s 3d, 180 ewes in lamb 7s lOd, 406 small lambs 3s 4d/

The prices realised were satisfactory, bidding being keep.
