A number of members of the Poverty Bay Golf Club spent the whole day. yesterday on tho links, while a good.many players were present m the afternoon .A. medal match of two rounds- was played, trophies being presented by the' Clubcaptain. Mr W. R. Barker, F. B. Spilsbiiry 106—107 (less 54 handicap), . came flrtet, and secured .the. prize, a silyor cup. li.'Balfour 117— di (less 54 handicap) handed 5 m the next .best. card. ■ i' ln the competition for the- best score 1 on tho fifty's- play'.'-G. M. Dodgshun came fti-fit with' 864*5; the ptlsie . being a golf club. J: Barns-Graham was second with 88—90. <■■.■■. ' ...
' The coach; who was duo to arrive from Wariganui on Saturday, has telegraphed, to the secretary, Mr G. Willock, that he will not arrive until Wednesday next. A medal match is sot down for next Saturday.
