AUCKLAND, last night, The weather was fine, but cold, for Steeplechase Day of the A.R.C. meeting. Rain on the previous night made the course heavy and no fast times were registered. There was a very large attendance, and speculation was brisk, the machine handling £39,550, as against £35,596 for the corresponding day last year.
