Mr Lloyd 'George, speaiung on the s&cond reading of the- Financial Bill, intimated that he strongly favored the appointment! of a departmental committee, consisting of business men and ' some members of Parliament, to inquire into the. existing' system of income tax assessment with a view to removing anomalies. "j. The Westminster Gazette agrees with several speakers to the Bill that it is high time to revise and simplify the assessment, inasmuch as some pay too much and others, too little.
