POVERTY BAY RUGBY UNION

At the weekly meeting of the Poverty Bay Rugby Union's management committee held last night there '.were present: Messrs H. E. Maude (chairman), W. Howard, C. Morse, S. S. Dean, J. A. Eaton, E. L. Maude, Forn, Fahey, and D. Cowan (secretary).

Garrison, West End, High School, and Kaiti-City Clubs wrote, entering teams for the third : grade competition. The Garrison Club intimated that by entering a third-grade- team they would have to withdraw their B team from the junior competition.— Leave was granted the Garrison Club to do so.

The United Club wrote withdrawing from the junior competition.

Mr W. Oates, president of the Waiapu Sub-Union, wrote stating that as the Tolaga Bay Club had dropped out, leaving only three Tokomaru clubs, the Waiapu sub-union had. practically become non-existent. He suggested thaf the Tuparoa clubs should affiliate and form the Waiapu sub-union.- He had advised the Tokomaru . clubs to affiliate with the Poverty Bay Rugby Union until his subunion was reinstated.— The Chairman and Messrs Dean, Howard, and E. L. Maude were appointed a sub-committee to go into the question of boundaries "re Waimata, Tuparoa and Waiapu, and report to next meeting.

Third grade (1.45.p.ni.)— High School v West End, Reserve; Kaiti-City v. Garrison No. 2 ground.

Schools (10.30 a.m.)— Gisborne v. Convent, No. 1 ground; Kaiti v. Makaraka, Reserve; Mangapapa v. Te. Hapara, No. 2 ground.
