On the way to prispn. the old nian t.ells how he, being one of the boys, blew the horn, and! from far arid near down they came m great numbers to rescue his riverince from the "sogers." A fight ensues, m which the 'soldiers 1 are beaten, and the holy man is taken and hidden m a cave, his food being supplied by frequent visits of Peggy, the old man's wife. A traitor finds out his whereabouts, and leads the "sogers" down, but Peggy is ahead of him, and the holy father is safely got aboard' a s)iip. He kisses the earth m fond farewell of his nativo land, and as the old man Marty says, alt'liough Peggy got seven years for conniving, at /his .escape, she's still alive,' "Here to tell the tale. The scene then changes back to the jovial evening, and the story ends with a vocal accompaniment of "The Dear Little Shamrock." A finp selection of Irish numbers were played during the picture, and ga.ve an atmosphere winch brought dear old Ireland back to the minds of many of those present. The'Vitagraph picture "Father and Son" created an impres-, sion not to b© forgotten, whilst "The Substitute Model" and "The Derelict's Return" were ably strengthened by a series of scenics, instructive, Qaumont Graphic, ,and. comedy films. The prograipme will be repeated to-night! An announcement is made that Mr Frank May, baritone singer, will appear on •Saturday night next m illustrated songs, of which thei-e are a fine selection.
