A.| Kirkpatrick (South Australia) refuse to| support the action taken by the others Agents-General led by Mr T. A. Cogh-1 lan (New South Wales). The' general! opinion is that those representatives with) whom the High Commissioner' is at! variance are influenced by the fear thaM i the Commonwealth Office, will take over, all immigration work, and so further, be-' little the already diminished importance of the Agents-General. This explains the attempt that has been made to discredit the exhibitions promoted by the Commonwealth office. Australian circles m London strongly condemn th<? pettiness of this action, which is attributed to the injured personal vanity of those Agents-General -who have been giving vent to their indignation-
