WELLINGTON, this day. lue Aew Zealand Boxing Conference opened to-day. A proposal to establish a. .-North Island and South Is.'and championship Mas vetoed. Mr Isaacs (Dunedm) moved that entries for the championships be limited to one entry from each class from each affiliated" body An amendment was moved by Mr Cooper (Timaru) that the entry m each class be limited to six. The motion was carried. It was moved by Mi Cooper (Wanganui) that the rules be so altered as to provide for the appointment of an official announcer for championship meetings. Mr Goodwin (Timam) proposed as an amendment that there .should be an official announcer for all meetings. The motion was carried on the voices. it was decided that, the duties of announcer should be to introduce contestants, and announce their class and weight ; he is to obtain from judges their decisions, and if they arein agreement: he is to immediately announce the decision. If they disa^rto he is to refer the matter to the referee, whose- decision he is to announce. On the motion of Mr Beauchamp Platts (Wellington)/ it was resolved that m the opinion of this association it should be - understood that m the ca.«e of any association 'importing. a professional from Australia, and whilst m the Dominion such professional is engaged by associations other than the one which iniportsd him. his travelling expense to and from Australia should be shared pro rata by the associations under -whoso, auspices he appears. Tha conference also decided, on the motion of Mr Goodwin (Timaru), that m the event of the New Zealand championship meeting extending over more than one evening, tho competitors' nmst weigh m on each evening on certified .scales. fit was resolved to recommend the Council to hold the next X.Z. championship meeting m 1913. and that the next Australasian championship meeting be held i;i Dunedin. On the motion of Dr. O'Brien (Palmerston North), it was resolved that no relative of any competitor be permitted to judge or referee at a. meeting m the bout m which such competitor is engaged. The Boxing Conference has decided to recommend that the next New Zen - land championship meeting be held at Timaru.
