DUNEDIN, last night. TJio Rev. Cecil John Wood was consecrated as fourth Bishop of Melanesia m /St. Paul's Cathedral this morning by the Primate, Bishop Neville. '.Bishop Sprott (Wellington) and Bishop Crossley (Auckland) assisted the Primate. The .consecration ceremony wa» preached by Dean Fifcchett, and there was a full musical service. The church was crowded; WELLINGTON, last night. Fresh demands on behalf of the Engiriedrivers' Union have been made. The jiours and wages asked for are about the -same as under tiie old award, but with jthe difference that time spent m geting sip steam is to be paid for. The hours nre to be fixed at 48 as formerly, but instead of 10a a day for" first class and 9s for second class men there is asked Is 3d per hour ,nnd is l_d per hour respectively. Locomotive and traction drivers are included m the mvr award, the pay being la 3d per hour.
