LONDON, July 12. The anniversary of the Battle of the Boyrte was celebrated at Belfast. Notwithstanding a doAviipbuiT of rain, 55,000 Orangemen marched through the principal streets. Raman Catholics made an attempt to destroy an Orange arch. This led to stone-throwing. The police charged the mob with batons. WindoAVs .were smashed, and some • policemen and a Avoman had to be taken to the hospital. I The riot led to a disturbance m other i districts.
Mr F. Smith Avas the principal speaker. He said that Home Rule was the brazenest paradox of modern politics. If he were an Ulster Protestant he would rather be ruled by the Sultan' from Constantinople than by Mr Devlin.
