At' .Wairoa.. oh Sunday night a sensa-^ tion was caused at Mr Buchanan's boarding house at a quarter to 6. A 1 man named Alfred Alexander Berry (reports the Guardian)' fired a rifle shot at Miss Delia Martirij 'waitress employed m the house. He Avas formerly m the 24th Regiment, and appears to have served m South Africa and m the Transvaal Town Police and elsewhere.
