FLOOD AT TIMARU.
(Per Press Association.) TIMAKU, last night, The rain ceased about 2 a.m. The total fall at Timara this storm was 3.67 inches. ; ' A good deal of anxiety was felt at Temuka. last night, as the river rose to high flood level, and several families had to remove from their dwellings m tho low-lying part of ' the borough. Tlie water was over the railway, line, and there are a few low lakes between Timaru and Studholme, but no material damage has been done. A good deal of the land along the coast is submerged, all the lagoons being full to overflowing. Fortunately the rain wa> warhi, and stock did not suffer much by the storm. To-day has been clea-i and bright.
