MARGARINE BUTTER.

MELBOURNE, May 23
At the Butter Factories' Conference, Mr Wyatt (manager of the Gippsland Company), dealing with the enormous increase m the price of margarine m England, said that owing to the high price of butter, the margarine makers had advanced their science to so proficient a state that they announced that margarine with a New Zealand, Australian, or Danish character would take the place of butter. There was no need to fear for butter when the price was 104s to 110s, but when it rose to 1265, margarine would come into competition.
