Fisher (Federal Premier) declared that the Federal Government will support Mr Justice Gordon (chairman of the Sugar.v Commission) m any action to test the legality of the position adopted by the Sugar Company's officials. Mr Justice Gordon stated i that he would not take upon himself the responsibility ,of authorising, the prosecution of the directors "for not attending, but he would leave it to the Federal Government.
