FASCINATION oT FOOTBALL.
TACKLING THE "BLOKES." (Per Prjess Association.) x WELLINGTON, last night. • The 'Wellington Rugby ' Union feels apprehensive regarding the effect which the -four military daylight parades, which are expected to take place this month, will have upon football. "I think we ought to make"- a mighty protest about it, and I think we ought to make these 'blokes' sit up," remarked Mr F. C. Atkinson at this evening's meeting of the Union's Management Committee,- when discussion was proceeding respecting these parades. "Four Saturdays they want," declared another delegate m answer .to a query as to the number of parades. "It would kill our junior football for the season," said Mr Atkinson. "And a lot of our senior football, too," intimated Mr W„ Hardham. Mr W. Perry ; "We had better confer with the ,. Soccer and hockey people'" Messrs -E. 0. Hales, W. Perry, and J. Burns were deputed to confer with the , other -winter sports bodies, with the object of approaching the DefenceSbuthorities on the iriatter.
