The Fiji Times thus refers to 'the departure of the Governor. "It was like a small eartjiquakle shock to the community of Suva when the news spread over the town recently that his Excellency the Governor, Sir Henry May, had been appointed Governor of Hong Kong. It is a peculiar coincidence that the three Governors ' who seemed inclined to do anything at all m Fiji should have had equally short terms here. We refer to Sir Charles Mitchell, Sir Henry Jackson, and Sir Henry •May. This coming and going of Governors has grown some what monotonous. The ink is barely dry on one address of Avelcome before the people begin to prepare another."
