Dr Stm Vat Sen is. receiving many telegrams protesting against tlie appointment of General Yuan Shili Kai as President of \,he Republic, , but has expressed the hope that all Republicans will accept the National Assembly's choice.
However, a division between the north and south is likely m consequence of Yuan's apparent assumption of presidential authority prior to his formal acceptance of the post.
