Lamed, - the American tennis player, in an intervieAy yesterday, stated that he did not believe- that Mr Warder had made the announcement that America would not compete for the Davis .Clip except on American soil,- or that, ' if he said anything, it Avas not in the way the cable' suggested. The conditions of the Davis Cup are definitely fixed and cannot be altered if .'Mr Warder or anybody else AA'antcd it. *■ " ■ . -■••'■
