U.S.S. CO.'S NEW SHIPS.
(Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. The Union Company has four steamers in the hands of Home builders, viz., an intercolonial liner of 13,000 tons, a twin vessel to the Maori for the LytteltonWellington service, and tAvo cargo steamers. Of the latter, one is a sister srfhip to the KoAvhai, and is being specially constructed for service at. shalloAV harbors, and it , will be christened the Karanui. Its registered tonnage is 800 i tons. The other is a larger vessel of 3750 tons, and is to: be named the Katoa, ,Both steamers will be equipped with -the latest appliances for the rapid removal of cargo.
