To-morrow afternoon Messrs Miller and Craig hold a clearing sale of household furniture at the residence of Mr J. E. Foster there being a large catalogue. The sale will commence sharp at 1.3 U.
A complete list of those who assisted at the stalls at the bazaar m the Garrison Hall last night was not obtainable. Those who assisted at Airs Phil Barry's "England" stall (red, white and blue), were Mesdames W. Smith, Cbllinge and Gavin, Misses Parker, Reniter, U'Sullivan, Field and Ivil, and Mr C. Devery.
A reception social to Mrs Harrison Lee-Cowie is to be held m Whinray's Hall at 8 o'clock to-night. Addresses of welcome will be made, and several musical items will be submitted. Mrs Cowie will give an address to workers and sympathisers and all such are particularly requested to be present. Tomorrow evening a meeting will be addressed by Mrs Lee Cowie at Waerenga-a-hika Hall and on Friday, at Patutahi Hail. '
That the Gisborne Liedertafel has established itself permanently m the good graces of Gisborne's music lovers is proved by the exceptionally good booking for the Society's second concert on Friday next. Both Mrs Gurr's and Mr Goney's choice of songs have been particularly fortunate, and will doubtless be greatly appreciated, while Mr Vita's harp solos will lend pleasant variety to the programme. Tickets for the concert are obtainable from members of the Society, and at Messrs W. Miller's and E. Chrisp and Son's.
The date of Messrs Williams and Kettle's annual land sale, to be held on the last Saturday m Show week, is approaching". People requiring suitable building , sections either m town or m the favorite localities of our suburbs, will find on looking through the advertised particulars that they will have a large and varied selection to choose from. With the completion of the Borough improvements, property is sure to rise considerably m value, and intending purchasers would be wise to secure their sections early.
