MANGAPAPA SCHOOL.

The monthly meeting of the Mangapapa School Committee was held last evening, a week Earlier than usiial. Present: Messrs Ellery (chairman)," Grundy. Coad, McCliskie, Goldsmith, McGregor, Mesdames Scott,, and McLeod. Th 6 headmaster (Mr R. Cole) presented his monthly report, which stated that since the last meeting the attendance had been very satisfactory, and had averaged 243, Avhich represented 94.3 per cent, of the average roll. The present roll number was 254. Two or three families were absent from school, as some member of tho family was ill with chicken-pox. Another week or so should see the district free of all sickness. Tickets for the school concert were i^oing off well. ;..'.■

It was reported that the contractor vas getting the timber on the ground for the new additions to the school, which it is expected will he ready m about three months' time.
