The committee of the above' • club met last evening at the: Maisonic Hotel, when a considerable, amount of routine business m connection with the shed was put through. Mr R. ,G. J. Py croft was elected a' new member. Thd 'resignation of the hon. : secretary, Mr Donald, • accepted with regret. Mr W. S. Coleman was appointed acting-secretary m the nicahtimc until other arrangements could he, made. In connection with the ■ races for the' Mpir Cup, which start this evening, Mr D. Farani was appointed starter, .and Mr C. W. Muir ..judge. The races ar* over the mile and a half, course, and finish opposite -the club house* Good racing is anticipated;The following crews are to meet to-night (weather permitting):— P. Hamilton v. Richards; Miller v. Tocker; Curtis v. Donald. POVERTY BAY ROWING CLUB. Crews -to represent the abpye club m the Licensed Victuallers' Shield races liave been selected as follows: — Seniors: M. McLeod (sir), W. McGuffio (3), C. Winter (2), and .1. W. Nicolas (bow). Juniors: W. Hall (str), J. Pricketfc (3), i\ Weston (2), and A. Tubert (bow). Ten Stone: J. Stuart, (str), H. Holschicr (3), S. Doig (2), and C. Clark (bow). Youths: N. Ingram (str), P. Stubbs (3), 11. Bean (Z), and O. Hansen (bow). Owing to there, being;' insufficient " names *on the list, the selectors nave deoided to hold over the, auatter of picking a, crew" to go to Napier until the committee meeting ... on Monday night, next.
