At a meeting of the combined Australasian Athletic Councils to arrange for sending' a team to the Festival of Empite, it was stated that New Zealand was keen to be represented, and intended to ask the Government for a subsidy. A letter from the New Zealand Amateur'Athletic Association stated that Woodger ! would probably- go to England as an accredited representative. The meeting made the ;following provisional appointments: — Sprints, Woodger, (New Zealand); half-mile and mile, Wheat ley (Victoria), Marden (New South Wales); hurdles, F. Brown (Victoria), in the event of Davis (Victoria) not being available; swimming and boxing,' llatftiwick (New Bonth | Wales); wrestling and cycling, Schneider (New I South Wales); tennis. Wilding (New Zealand).
