Mr Piper despatched the horses fairly well together. Fort William went tc the front, closely followed by Dazzling, Manupai came next, then Paisano, and Voetgang last. At the bluegums Voetgang went up to second place, and Dazzling and Manupai fell to the rear. The horses entered the straight pretty well in a bunch, -but Fort William again drew away,, and won by five lengths. Dazzling beat Voetgang by two length.' for second place, and the latter finished the same distance in front of Paisano. Time, 1.43 1-5.
