A DAYLIGHT BURGLARY.

AUCKLAND, this day. .Burglars visited the residence of Dr Parkes between 3- and 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon, and stole jewellery valued at £600. Tlio doctor was out at the time but Mrs Parkes Mas at home. $he heard -a noise made by someone moving about the house, but hei* suspicions were not aroused until she went upstairs to her room, and. mw that some intruder Imd hes-i there. Two of the diamond rings stolen were valued at £150 each. Three gold watches and a quantity of other jewellery were taken.
