SWIMMING SPORTS FOR LADIES.

(Special" to Herald.) NAPIER, this day. Tlie first ladies' swimming sports held m Napier took place at the municipal baths on Saturday afternoon, and proved, a great success, upwards of 400 ladies being present. The various events brought out , a large number of competitors, arid some excellent sport was provided. The ladies' champion, ship, 50 yards, was won by Miss Rangitaia Te Natene, a pupil from the Hukarere school.
