HOCKEY.
(Per Press Associrttion.) AUCKLAND, last night. A conference wa.s held to-night with Mr Jones (secretary of the Wellington Hockey Referees' Association) m refer-eiH-o to a. discussion which has arisen with Wellington as to under whose jurisdiction the New Zealand Referees' Con-, fer-ence shall be ■ held. The result was that Auckland decided to .support Waiiganui, and appointed Mr \L K. Madden its repiNN«entative. Mr Jones, on behalf of Wellington, thereupon agreed to abandon the idea of holding tlie conference .nt Wellington, and /'decided to fall m with Wanganui's arrangements. Mr Jones will represent Wellington at the conference.
The district hockey competition' will be continued at the Domain on Thursday afterhoon. V.M.C.A. meets Civil Service, at 2.15 and C?ifcy"tries conclusions with West End at 3.30. The following players will represent their clubs— V.M.C.A. : Ngira, Munro, i Rewai, Mill,. Pine, Clarke, Auld, Brown, W. H. 'Davey, Raissoll, -Baker, L. Davoy (emergency). Civil Service: Scott, Barker, Mahler, Payne, Bristowe, Bousfield, Rudman, Stagpoole. Hargieaves, Sissons, and File. City : Corlwtt. Day, Friar. Grinlington, Cpckerill, Armstrong-, Daw'son, Bull, Doyle. Mar tin. Fox (emergency).
