SHEEP DOC TRIAL CLUB.

There was a large attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Poverty Bay Sheep Dog Trial Club, held at the Ormond hotel last night. The President (Mr J. A. Caesar) occupied the chair.

: The following report was submitted by the secretary (Mr R. Thelwall) :— "Your committee have pleasure m submitting the fourteenth annual report oi the club, and m doing 90 congratulate* members on the satisfactory position disclosed, both by the report and the .balance-sheet. During, the past year increased interest. was takeri m the. work of the club, both by, competitors, stationowners, and the general public. Last season's trials, which were again held on Bruce' s Estate at Ormond, were the most, successful m the history of the. club, the number of entries constituting a record for the district. The balance-, sheet shows- that receipts for the year amounted to £128 12s. The donations received from patrons of . the club amounted to the satisfactory total of £44 145,; and the thanks of members are due to those gentlemen who contributed so .liberaly to the funds of the club; £17 5s was received from members' subscriptions andY£3B 5s from entrahce : fee's. The principal, items of expenditure were £35 lor jnize money, and £11 12s 6d for trophies and medals won at the trials. The credit .balance on the year's operations, including ..the balance m hand amounts to £67 .6s 3d, which must be deemed to be highly satisfactory. TheYthanks of ' the club are due m a large measure to our worthy president, Mr J. A. Caesar, who took a keen interest, m the club throughout the year, and did much to, make the trials such a success, and .special thanks are due to him .for so liberally entertaining the guests at the trials, during each day, at his own expense. Your committee also wishes to place on record the thanks of thY club to the owners of the ground on which the trials were held, to Messrs Burgess for supplying the sheep, and to Messrs McKenzie Bros, for grazing the .sheep while the trials lasted. Your, committee, m conclusion, , wishes the club every success during' 'the coming yeaii, and ..trusts that members will combine to make the approaching trials even more successful than those of last' year." — The' report was adopted. Amongst* tho general items discussed it was decided to recommend tho committee to include a driving class m the programme on the last day, if there was tinie v the post .entry \to bo y sb. , Discussion also took place as to the advisability' of increasing the prize money, but the matter, was subsequently referred to the commityee.
