P.B. RUGBY UNION.

The weekly meeting of the Poverty Bay Rugby Union was held last evening in the Masonic hotel, there being present: Messrs H. E. Maude (chairman), H. Bright, C Morse, L. O. Ingram, L. Sherriff, H. Puflett, G. K. Pasley, W. Johnston, and E. L. Maude (hon. sec.) A wire was received from the New Zealand Rugby Union stating that Mr Pegler, of Hastings, had.; been appointed refree for the representative match on Saturday. A claim for one month's accident insurance was passed'. Correspondence was received from the secretary of the Wairoa Sub-Union, asking if a match could be arranged with a Poverty Bay team, to be played at Wairoa, and also stating what gate money they would give. — It was decided; that the secretary reply, regretting that the Union was unable to accede to the. request this season. '..'•.'■ A junior player wrote regretting hisunavoidable absence from ithe> ' practice match last Saturday.^— Received. A request for a donation was. receive ed from the secretary of the .Hockey Association for the Ladies' Hockey Club which took part' in the matches against .! the Wapiti Club (Napier).— £2 2s granted. St. Andrew's Bible class requested the use of No. 2 ground next Thursday, at 1.30 p.m. — Granted. . The use of the ground for Saturday, September 12, was granted to Mr Geo. "Smith's employes for a match against Messrs tVade and Gray'e. employes, j: It was decided to,.- s§ud'- ; a letter of , thanks to -the Tolaga (Bay 'Club, re allow- j ing Mr'Watchorn to play dh 'the 'repre-| sentative team. Messrs H. Puflett and L. B. Sherriff were appointed delegates to go out to the steamer on Saturday morning to meet the Hawke's Bay visitors to take part in the match that day.

The players selected for ,. the football representative team to play against Hawke's Bay next Saturday are request-, ed to meet at the drill shed to-night a-nd to-morrow night. As these are' the only nights available for practice, all members should make an effort to attend.

The Hawke's Bay representative team to play Poverty Bay at Gisborne v on Saturday, next will be the same as that played' against Wanganui, with the exception that Duwson will take Mitchell's place as lock. A sixteenth man as emergency will be chosen. The team will therefore be as follows : ■ Full-back, Symes; three-quarters, Wall, .' Lewis. Absolum ; five-eighths, Kenybn, Walshe (captain) ; half, Renwick; iwing forward, Evans ; forwards, Scullin, McDonald, C. Johnson,' Dawson, Hay, Hackett, and Struthers. -, ,
