The weekly meeting of the Poverty Bay Rugby Union was held last evening in the Masonic hotel, there being present: Messrs H. E. Maude (chairman), H. Bright, C Morse, L. O. Ingram, L. Sherriff, H. Puflett, G. K. Pasley, W. Johnston, and E. L. Maude (hon. sec.) A wire was received from the New Zealand Rugby Union stating that Mr Pegler, of Hastings, had.; been appointed refree for the representative match on Saturday. A claim for one month's accident insurance was passed'. Correspondence was received from the secretary of the Wairoa Sub-Union, asking if a match could be arranged with a Poverty Bay team, to be played at Wairoa, and also stating what gate money they would give. — It was decided; that the secretary reply, regretting that the Union was unable to accede to the. request this season. A sixteenth man as emergency will be chosen. The team will therefore be as follows : ■ Full-back, Symes; three-quarters, Wall, .' Lewis.
