AUCKLAND, this day. . The landing of the Admiral and officers of the fleet and reception by the Premier and citizens, was favored with fine weather, though the sky was cloudy. Sir Joseph Ward presented Admiral Sperry with a handsome trophy of New Zealand workmanship.

After lusty cheers for Admiral Sperry the Chairman of the Harbor Board' (Mr Mitchelson) presented an address of welcome and a silver casket to Admiral Sperry, and the Admiral replied. Tlie bands played the British and American nationai anthems, and • the official party left the wharf for. the civic reception, passing through densely crowded streets. There was enthusiastic cheering all along the route.
