As tlie visitors had to catch the afternoon train for Melbourne at 4.30 the game was commenced at 1.30 p.m.. and w.is limited to 21 heads. Maynard played several good shots, but Goldstone was clean off color, and could never get the strength of the green. Hedgert led Bentley a merry dance. The New Zealand skip was unwell, but Smith did good work for him. Hill, who had a good ail-round team, hud a close go with Bishop, whose men played well. Walsh always had the lead of Allnutt s rink, in whicli the skip, with saw ing shots, was the most conspicuous player during the game.
