An interesting announcement >vas made by : . Mrv Gullick (Government- prijnter -at jSydriey). He stated tliat a few of them iin ' tlie/ department had, behind tjhe scenes,' practically achieved natural colored photography, and he was only waiting lor apparatus to arrire frp'mi the Old Couintiy in order to put the work before ' the general publio on a lai'ge scale. For live years he liad. been closely plugging away at .the new art, for the past three years particularly so, and lie and the officers of the depaitmeiit associated with him had produced results which -would awaken sentiments of pride, pleasure, and interest in the people of t!^e State of New South Wales. (Applause.) There was absolutely no risk about it now. He liad sent; a member of his staff to Mount Kosciuski, who. had brought back 50 exquisite pictures, showing the colors of Nature absolutely a_ they were. When the public saw; the photographs it would be realised* what a gieat result-had' been achieved on lines which Avere scarcely known in the world as yet, . although they had been introduced in Germany. (Applause). Few had attempted the work outside the technical schools of Berlin. He wanted the Government ; to understand that its printing office could follow in- the step* of the highest trained experts that -could be brought forward. (Applause.) In due course he would ask the iriembcrs of the Ministry to attend and see what liad been gained, and what could be done with the new art , in the future. (Applause.)
