FRANCO-BRITISH EXGIBITION.
'lhe Franco-British Exhibition, which is t<> be held at Shepherd's Bush, London, from May to October this year, promises to be one of tho finest international exhibitions ever carried out. Mr Irme Kiralfy is the Commissioner-Gene-ral, and is a guarantee for its smooth working. The Business Man's Magazine .Vays :— "The exhibits will be housed m twenty palaces', each of which will be a marvel of architectural ,beauty and each will be thoroughly fireproof. One half of the entire space of the Exhibition \ will be devoted to the French exhibits, which will be more ; extensive than those. displayed! by France at any exhibition outside Paris. The British colonies and dependencies will demonstrate that within the boundaries ,<>f the British .Empire can be obtained all the necessaries and luxuries demanded, by modern, civilisation. Canada has secured an area of 120,000 square feet, upon which will bo erected a palace which will contain ;i collection of objects illustrating the produce and manufactures of the Dominion. Australia, New Zealand, .etc., and the Crown colonies will participate upon an extensive scale, and m many cases >pecial buildings will bo erected by their, respective Governments. India,, too, will be well represented. The chief attractions of the Exhibition will be tlje Quadrennial Olyinpio Games, which /will take place m a Stadium expressly erected for the purpose, and holding about. Bo,ooo people. Generations will pass away before the- Olympic Games are again held m Great; Britain, and every effort is being made to make this the greatest international (athletic concourse that has ever assembled. The games will include flat running races, hurdle races, walking r;ucs, jumping, polo jumping, throwing, the haujmer, putting the weight, -tugs-of-war, 'discus tlii owing, javelin. thr6\v r ing, relay- races, archery, cyJcJirijß, feiiSiner, football (Association and tßugby). golf, gymnastics, hockey,' lacrosse, lawn tennis, skaUng, swimming, and' wrest"ling (catch-as-catch-can and Gi'aeeOrßo'-: man), which will be all held m the grounds, mdtoi'-boat racing on Southa.niptph Water, motor racing at Brookland^ Track, at Weybridge, racquets at the 1 Queen's Club, West .Kensington, rowing at Henley, rifle and other shoot-, ing at Bisley, and tennis at the Queen's Club, AVest Kensington."
