NAUTICAL ENQUIRY.
(Per Press Association.) . AUCKLAND, thi's day. The nautical enquiry concerning the collision of the steamer Wair.una and scow Moonah was resumed to-day. Jas. de Silva, master of sailing vessel, stated that his side lights were burning six or seven f oet above the deck. When he saw the steamer approaching, he kept liis course, intending: to pass red to red 1 . When the steamer Was two minutes off he put the helm down to let the ketch come into the wind, Then ; the steamer blew the whistle, which he understood meant going to starboard, just what the Moonah was doing when the collision occurred. The Wairunav must have been going at the. rate, of , six or seven knots. His lights were m the mizzen , rigging, and" were burning brightly before the collision. , ;
