Ugly, threatening appearance. Fine weather was reported from all parts of the colony to-day, except at Westport, CireymoyTth, and Hokitika, where there was rain. STATE OF THE SEA. A very heavy sea was running at Russell this morning, and -considerable sea at New Plymouth, and Bluff; smooth elsewhere. WEATHER FORECAST. Captain Edwin reported this morning: "Easterly, strong winds to gale ; tides good ; ' sea, lieavy swell after 24 hours ; glass fall slowly ; weather probably warmer."
