DEATH OF VETERAN C.T.

♦ — ' (Per Press Association.) jPALMERSTON N., this day. Mr W. J. Salmon, a well-known commercial traveller, died suddenly whilst m the smoking room o f the Club hotel this morning of heart failure. Deceased had been m town all the week, and was apparently m his usual health this morn-' ing. He had breakfast as usual, and went to the sample rooms, returning to his hotel, where he died m a few minutes. Mr Salmon, whose headquarters were at Wellington, was a veteran on the road. Be was for many years a constant visitor to Gi9borne as representative of the Kaiapoi Woollen Company, until his appointment as representative of the company for Wellington district. Mr Salmon will be remembered with kindliest feelings by Gisborne business people* he being a genial spirit aud held m high esteem by those with whom he had business. . He was an enthusiastic cricketer, being a very good batsman.
