Gaudin, accidentally shot at Matakohi, show that deceased "was trying to have a shot at a pheasant on the property, and whilst passing through a gate the gun. caught m some wire netting. The shot entering under his chin, death must have been instantaneous. Deceased only arrived at Matakohe on Tuesday, having taken up eeven hundred acres m the district. He was a member of. the First Contingent, and leaves a widow and one child. An inquest will be held to-day.
